Visible Classroom Training

Visible Classroom is an impactful self-reflective professional development and program quality tool that uses classroom cameras to allow Guides to film their own classrooms without disrupting the student experience. This series of trainings and ongoing support will help school leaders and guides get started with using the system.
Visible Classroom Training

Step by step Guide to use Visible Classroom as a Professional Development Tool

Tech Installation
The IT team will work with HoS’ on installing the cameras and setting up the tech.
Trainings
HOS’ join the Visible Classroom School Leadership Training to learn how to use Visible Classroom to create a culture of support and growth on campus, and to learn the technical steps to use the platform. HoS’ then invite their Guides to join the Visible Classroom Guide Training offered by the Programs team to use Visible Classroom as a self-reflective tool for professional development to elevate their practice as Montessori educators.
Study Group
Guides join the Visible Classroom Study Group to practice using Visible Classroom in a workshop format to learn the art of self-reflection by observing yourself from a third-party perspective.
Grow
Continue to grow as a Montessori educator in keeping with the promise we make to the children of providing an authentic Montessori education. Join other Onward Study Groups or additional training through Prepared Montessorian Institute. We are all on a path to continue learning and we are here to support you on the journey. Your success is our success!

OVERVIEW

Visible Classroom is a professional development tool to help our Guides magnify their ability to grow as Montessori educators. The possibilities for self-reflection and growth are enormous with the use of this tool, including:

  • A guide can review footage of themselves, reflect on their own practice and set goals for improvement.
  • A  new guide can schedule a virtual observation with an experienced peer mentor or Programs coach for feedback and advice toward a professional goal.
  • A community of practice for guides to review footage together of them each delivering the same lesson to learn from one another.
  • A school community can review a transition together across multiple classrooms to establish more efficient routines.
  • A HOS can regularly observe classrooms across the school to support Guides as needed without interrupting the classroom.
  • A HOS can review footage of a guide together with the guide to pinpoint specific bright spots and brainstorm solutions to challenges observed.
