Montessori Essentials
Montessori Essentials
Unit 1: Montessori Programs
Montessori schools offer a range of programs serving various age groups, from infants to elementary, and even extend to adolescence. This unit will walk through key features of a Montessori program at each age level.
Unit 2: Montessori Classroom
This unit will introduce you to specific elements that make a Montessori classroom unique and successful. Montessori classrooms are built around underlying themes that bring consistency to how we interact with children and guide them in navigating their community.
Unit 3: Montessori Curriculum
Dr. Montessori developed the curriculum we use today by observing children and understanding how they change and grow over time. She then created an educational environment, along with Montessori materials, 'presentations,' and lessons that align with the child's developmental needs. We will introduce each area of the curriculum, explain its purpose, and give examples that bring it to life.
How to Complete the Course
We recommend that you make a plan to spend 1-2 hours each day over 10 days at your own pace. Each module has different length and is consisted of videos to watch, questions to answer, or one Montessori lesson.
Montessori Essentials is a pre-requisite course for Nido & Toddler, Children's House, and Elementary Montessori Teacher Certification program.
